Dr Trevor Sargeant
Trevor is a lifetime resident of the Freshwater/Curl Curl community having been born and raised here. After attending Harbord Public School and Manly Boys High, Trevor graduated from the University of Sydney in 1979 with his bachelor of Dental Surgery. From here he moved to the central west town of Parkes where he gained extensive experience in all areas of dentistry. It is during this time that he also met his wife of 31 years, Vicki Sargeant, who was previously the Practice Manager at Freshwater Dental.
Following his time in Parkes, Trevor returned to Sydney and took up practice is Manly with Dr Hooke. While Trevor enjoyed his time in Manly, he could not pass up the opportunity to start his own practice in the Harbord Village Shopping Centre. For the past 20+ years Trevor and his team have been dedicated to proving the residents of Freshwater with high quality dental care in a relaxed and caring environment.
In addition, Trevor was an active member of the Manly Apex Club and for the last 10 years he has chaired the board of the Bendigo Community Bank in Freshwater. During this time the bank has donated over $1,000,000 to the local community which Trevor counts as one of his proudest achievements.
Along with his wife Vicki and their three children, Emma, Adam and Ellie, Trevor still calls Freshwater home. He can often be found at Curl Curl Beach early each morning swimming, running, fishing or just socialising. He is a long term member of the South Curl Curl Surf Club and has spent many a Saturday coaching and managing teams for the Harbord Seasiders United Football Club.
Dr Michael Cahill
Michael graduated from the University of Sydney in 1979, in the same graduating class as Trevor. Having grown up in Concord, Michael moved with his family to Curl Curl in the last years of University. After graduation, Michael secured a position in the South Coast town of Bega. In 1980 he purchased the practice and provided dental care to Bega and Merimbula community until June 2006. During this time he gained valuable experience in all facets of dentistry and regularly attended continuing education courses.
In July 2006, Trevor gave him an offer he couldn’t refuse and Michael joined the Freshwater Dental team.
Michael believes in the importance of his patient’s enjoying their dental experience and aims to always put them at ease in a relaxed and friendly environment. He has a wide range of experience in all areas of dentistry and has special interests in prevention, restoration, crowns and bridges, endodontics (root canal therapy) and cosmetic dentistry.
On weekends he can be found outdoors sailing, snow skiing or cycling or found at home with his family and friends having a coffee or relaxing and watching a movie.
Dr Rachel Fletcher
Dr Rachel Fletcher has been living, working and raising her family in Australia since 2013. Having previously graduated from Bristol University in the UK in 2007. Rachel has worked in variety of different roles within dentistry both within hospital setting and in general practice in the UK and Australia. Rachel enjoys all aspects of dentist and loves to see the positive outcomes with her patients. Outside of work, having a young family Rachel enjoys spending time at many of the beautiful beaches with her daughter and husband, a grabbing a quick dip in the water in a free moment!
Dr Steven Rajah
Steve is an experienced general dentist who specialises in surgical work including dental implants, root canal therapy, and cosmetic dentistry.
Steve graduated from Sydney University in 2010 and worked as a general dentist in Newcastle for 7 years before joining the team at Freshwater Dental in 2017.
As a keen tennis player and a dedicated fan of cricket and the Sydney Swans, Steve tries to maintain an active lifestyle while not at Freshwater Dental - which is usually best achieved by chasing after his very active toddler!
Having grown up in Sydney, Steve is very happy to return home with his wife and young family and to raise their children on the Northern Beaches.
Steve’s friendly, approachable, confident, and professional manner ensures a comfortable and stress-free experience for patients. In addition, his surgical background and expertise enable him to offer a wide range of treatment options for patients at Freshwater Dental requiring dental implants, crowns, veneers and emergency appointments.
